The training consists of two half days, the first will focus on core brief intervention skills and how to successfully communicate risk and related health behaviour advice. The second session will reflect back on how the learning from the first session has been put into practice and look at what steps can be made to improve confidence. It is also hoped that the second session will include locality social prescribing information specific to your district and help to create a locality network of GP and Community Pharmacy Health Workers.
It is intended that members of your team who will actively be giving health improvement advice attends both the first and second sessions in the locality where your pharmacy is based. The same person must attend both sessions. A back fill payment of £30 per session can be reclaimed following the same person attending both courses. Non-attendance, without notification, will be charged at £40 per person per session. Attendance at this training forms part of your HLP accreditation so please be sure to book your places as early as possible to ensure availability.
