Flu Vaccination training

I  appreciate with summer approaching the last thing that you are thinking about is Flu vaccination training but September is only 16 weeks away and the new Flu immunisation programme will start again and community Pharmacists will once again play an important role.

NHS England has determined that pharmacists providing the Flu Vaccination Service need to attend face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support training every two years. This requirement means that a pharmacist who undertook face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support in 2015 would not need to undertake face-to-face training in 2016. The pharmacist would then need to undertake face-to-face training in order to continue to provide the service in 2017. Pharmacists who last undertook face-to-face training in 2014 would need to undertake face-to-face training in 2016, prior to providing the Flu Vaccination Service. 

I am delighted to announce that Avon LPC in conjunction with Avon Healthcare Services will be running a couple of face-to-face accredited Flu Vaccination training sessions in July. Please find the detail below:

 Cost:

•  £70 for all AHS (Avon Healthcare Services) members 
• £100 for all non members (if you want to join please contact us)

Tuesday 18th July

all sessions to be 3.5 hours long and to include SC and reconstitution but not children

Session 1         9.30am-1pm

Session 2         2pm -5.30pm

Session 3         7pm-10.30pm
