EllaOne PGD Training Event – 15 July 2014

Your pharmacy will have received the new Public Health service agreement 2014-15 for Sexual Health – EHC Advanced (level 2) Service, with the inclusion of ulipristal/ ellaOne in the options for treatment. 

Ulipristal/ ellaOne has a different mode of action to levonorgestrel and specific indications for supply.  You will need to ensure you are competent to provide this treatment under PGD.

To support your learning we have arranged two ellaOne update events for July 2014 – you can attend either date. The venue and refreshments are kindly sponsored by HRA Pharma UK.

Certificates will be available on the evening.

 Pre-Course Learning:

To prepare for the training event you are asked to complete the following pre-course tasks:

•  go to the Professional Section – navigate around the website reading all the relevant information about Ulipristal. Click the link to Resources / In-depth Resources and view the New Interactive Presentation/ Slides/ leaflet and FAQs. You can also follow links to the Faculty Sexual & Reproductive Health and other useful sites for further learning

The evening will cover the inclusion of ulipristal/ ellaOne to the service specification; the use of the new PGD; decision making tool – when to give it in preference to levonorgestrel; how to use the new online proformas via PharmOutcomes, and other clinical update information.

NB: If you attended the update event on 17th May 2014, you do not need to attend this event. You may wish to revisit the ellaOne website for information.
